Petersfield Inclusive Tuesday Society

WELCOME TO THE PITS …

We are a friendly informal society of Petersfield Golf Club members who get together on Tuesday mornings in order to enjoy one another's company and the game we all play with varying degrees of success. Sometimes we need to change the time or location of a meeting and this is communicated via a NEWSFLASH.

To join in any of our meetings, enter the PITS Team Competitions in the Upcoming Competitions panel in the Members section of the club's website. This needs to be done by mid-day of the preceding Sunday. Teams and tee times are drawn on the Monday morning and published during the Monday afternoon on the website and by email.

Some of us occasionally return to the clubhouse after about four hours carrying the ball with which we commenced the game. Most of us however, prefer to reduce the weight of our golf bags by discarding several balls during our round and to take advantage of the opportunity to practice our individual styles of swinging our golf clubs as often as possible.

When all of us have returned to the Clubhouse, we each pay a levy of 20 shillings of the realm to the players who have met the day's challenge. This is considered to be sufficient reward to ensure that said "winners" do not then monopolise the conversation by describing the methods, techniques and good fortunes by which the challenge was met. Those of us for whom the green rubbed the wrong way are simply not interested.
